Etrade Review

Etrade is one of the best known brokerage houses. It recently lowered it's commissions and even though they are still very high comparing to most other online brokers they are not as bad as used to be. Minimum to open cash account is $1,000.

Etrade trading platform (Power Etrade Pro) is well-designed and easy to use. Executions are fast. Company offers a lot of good analytics and tools all in one place. Great Level 2 quotes.

No IRA fees and no account maintenance and inactivity fees make Etrade a good option for a brokerage retirement account as well as for buy-and-hold investors.

Good company but commissions are expensive. Only recommended for very occasional traders.
