Shop around for highest interest certificates of deposit.

If you use certificates of deposit (CDs) as a safe place to keep cash and get income, you are not finding good returns right now. This is because Federal Reserve keeps interest rates artificially low to stimulate the economy. But this could not go on forever. Inflation will rise as the result of this policy and Federal Reserve will have to increase interest rates, very likely sometime in 2010. Then you should get a higher yields on your CDs.

For this reason it makes sense getting 9-12 month certificates of deposit now and getting better rate next year. We are listing current highest yielding FDIC insured certificates of deposit here.
