Cheapest Flat Rate Commissions - OptionsHouse Brokerage

In 2014 we gave OptionsHouse one of the top positions in our "Best Discount Stock Brokers Review". One of main reasons for this decision is that the firm offers very low, $4.75 per trade flat-rate stock and ETF trading commission, and two great pricing plans for options traders. OptionsHouse has no trading platform fees, no account balance minimums, no minimum number of trades, and no volume requirements to get these cheap commissions.

In its annual online broker survey Barron's magazine gave OptionsHouse 4.5 stars (out of 5) for the last few years and named them #1 in "Trade Experience".

Very Low Trading Commissions - TradeKing Brokerage

TradeKing offers very similar to OptionsHouse, $4.95 per trade commission on stocks and ETFs trades. The firm also does not have balance minimums, minimum number of trades, trading platform fees and volume requirements to get these cheap commissions. There is, however, a $50 inactivity fee if BOTH apply to an account(s): 1. Combined account value of the household account(s) is less than $2,500; 2. No commission-charged trades have been executed in the account(s) during the last 12 months.

The main advantage TradeKing has over Optionshouse is an online user community, that allows members to improve their trading skills and strategies by learning from more experienced users. TradeKing is one of the few discount online brokerages that offers Forex trading. No account minimum, no inactivity fees and free dividend reinvestment are great too.
